Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
This policy explains how the Memora app for Android ("Memora", "the app"), published by InnoxSofty ("we", "us"), handles information. In short: the memories you create stay on your phone. We do not have an account system and we never receive your notes, photos, recordings or tasks.
1. Content you create stays on your device
Notes, checklists, photos, voice recordings, transcripts, text recognised in photos, tasks, reminders, categories and settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We do not upload, collect, read or sell this content.
- Text recognition (OCR) runs on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. Your images are not sent to us.
- Voice transcription runs on your device. The first time you use it, the app downloads a speech-recognition model file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This download does not include any of your recordings. Hugging Face may see your IP address, as with any web request.
- Backups are files you create and save yourself, protected by a password you choose. They go only where you put them. We never receive them, and we cannot recover a backup if you forget its password.
2. Permissions
- Camera / photos: to attach photos you take or choose.
- Microphone: to record voice notes, only when you start a recording.
- Notifications and run at start-up: to show reminders you set, and to restore them after the phone restarts.
- Biometrics: to unlock the app with your fingerprint if you turn on App Lock. Your fingerprint is handled by Android; the app never sees it.
- Internet: for the speech model download, ads and anonymous usage analytics described below.
3. Usage analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. It records events such as screens opened, a note or task being created, a reminder being scheduled, and whether text recognition or a backup succeeded. Firebase also collects standard technical information such as an app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, app version and approximate location (country or region, from your IP address).
Analytics never include the contents of your notes, photos, recordings, recognised text, search terms or backups. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.
4. Advertising
Memora is free and shows ads, served through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalised. Ads never have access to your notes or other content.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings under Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads). Learn more in how Google uses information in ads.
5. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the analytics and advertising services named above, we do not share information with third parties, unless the law requires it.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your content stays on your phone until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all app data from the device, except backup files you saved elsewhere. Firebase Analytics data is kept for a limited period, set by Google Analytics retention settings, and is then deleted automatically. To ask about or request deletion of analytics data linked to your app installation, contact us below.
7. Security
App Lock (PIN or fingerprint) can stop other people from opening the app on your phone. Backups are encrypted with your password. Like any app, Memora relies on your phone's own security, so keep your device locked and up to date.
8. Children
Memora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
